'Bringing our values to life' is not assessed. PwC's early careers page describes it as a non-assessed activity inside the online assessment stage, designed to give you a feel for what working at PwC might be like before you decide whether to continue. Nothing you do in it counts towards your application.
What the activity is for
PwC says the activity is there to help you reflect on whether its culture and ways of working feel like an environment you would thrive in, and to support your decision about carrying on with the process. In other words it runs in your favour: it is PwC showing you the job, not PwC measuring you.
That decision is worth taking seriously, because of PwC's once-a-year application rule. An application you start and abandon still counts as your one application for that intake year, so it is better to find out early that the firm is not for you than to discover it at the assessment centre.
What comes straight after it
If you decide PwC is right for you, the assessed parts follow in a fixed order, according to PwC's page:
- A behavioural profile about your natural preferences at work. Untimed.
- A cognitive test covering numerical, inductive and deductive reasoning. Timed.
Both are hosted on the SHL platform. After the online assessment comes an on-demand video interview, also on SHL, then a virtual assessment centre.
How to use the activity well
- Do it properly rather than clicking through. It is the only part of the process built purely for your benefit.
- Note anything about PwC's ways of working that you could speak about later. The video interview asks you to describe your experience, and the assessment centre looks at how you work.
- Do not treat the break after it as optional revision time for the behavioural profile. That profile cannot be revised for. The timed cognitive test can.
