Can you reapply to PwC? The once-a-year rule explained

PwC SHL Prep4 min read

You cannot reapply to PwC UK early careers in the same intake year. PwC considers one application for its 2027 programmes, and if you are unsuccessful or withdraw, you wait to apply for programmes starting in 2028. That makes the online assessment a one-shot stage: there is no second attempt a few weeks later.

What counts as an application

PwC's definition is broad. For this rule an application includes any role you have been offered, withdrawn from, or been unsuccessful in. So withdrawing part-way through does not reset anything, and neither does applying to a different programme or office. PwC also restricts you to one live application at a time.

PwC says it takes attempts to get round the policy very seriously, and its conduct checks include looking for duplicate accounts. A second account is not a loophole; it is a way to have both applications withdrawn.

What this means for the online assessment

At many employers a weak test result costs you a few weeks. At PwC it costs you a year. The practical consequences:

  • Do not start the online assessment cold to see what it is like. Your first attempt is your only attempt for that intake.
  • Practise the three reasoning types under time pressure before you open the real test. PwC confirms the cognitive test is timed and covers numerical, inductive and deductive reasoning.
  • Use the non-assessed 'Bringing our values to life' activity to decide whether you want to continue, because continuing and failing uses up your year just as surely.
  • Apply to the programme you actually want. PwC's process matches graduates to a business area later, but the application itself is single-use.

If you already work at PwC

PwC asks current employees to contact the Early Careers team before applying. If that is you, do that first.

Frequently asked questions

Can you reapply to PwC after failing the online assessment?

Not in the same intake year. PwC UK considers one early careers application per year: if you are unsuccessful or withdraw from the 2027 process, you need to wait to apply for programmes starting in 2028.

Does withdrawing a PwC application count?

Yes. PwC's definition of an application includes roles you have been offered, withdrawn from or been unsuccessful in, so withdrawing still uses your one application for that year.

Can you apply to two PwC early careers programmes at once?

No. PwC restricts candidates to one application at a time for its early careers roles, and checks for duplicate accounts.
